The MAP is a very special building. It is located in the historical district of the Kasbah, and was designed by a Lebanese-French duo, the architects Joseph Achkar Sagid and Michel Charrière. These 18th century ambassadors specialize in the restoration of prestigious palaces and residences. They were inspired by the legendary buildings of the medieval Moroccan period and the Madrasas of the 15th century.
This magnificent museum of the Arts of Adornment (Arts de la Parure) houses around 3,000 pieces of jewellery of exceptional rarity and finesse. Marlene and Paolo Gallone are two collectors who have long been keen on Moroccan culture. They decided to open a museum in their adopted city of Marrakesh, and it took them a few years to prepare and deliver this new Jewel of the Ochre city. Now they can finally showcase part of their collection to the public! Their ambition is to share these real treasures accumulated throughout their many travels over the years.
This new museum of Marrakesh is dedicated to the Arts of Adornment and was opened to the public in November 2022. MAP Marrakesh (World of Ornamental Arts – Jewellery as well as sophisticated apparel) has a huge collection of jewellery, ornaments and other ceremonial objects and clothing. Some of them come from 50 different

countries. They are all displayed in one place, allowing you to see how different cultures and tribes use jewellery to show their individual styles.
The museum is housed in a new building, yet celebrating the best of traditional Moroccan architecture, and is a great place to visit when in Marrakesh. MAP is located in the heart of the Medina, relatively close to our Riad.
It is a visit you will want to add to your list of “To Do” while in Marrakesh. It's halfway between the Saadian Tombs and the Badii Palace and close to the Bahia Palace, so it's a great place to visit on your next trip.
On the top floor, there is a rooftop garden terrace with a magnificent view of the medina and the Atlas Mountains. Marius Boulesteix, garden designer, is the brainchild of this hanging garden on the top floor.
The MAP is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm (last admission at 5.15pm).
