History:
In 2001, Mohammed VI inaugurated an extraordinary festival that has since conquered the world of cinema. Marrakesh was the natural choice to host this iconic event, thanks to its world-class infrastructure. Under the direction of French producer Daniel Toscan du Plantier, the Marrakesh Festival has become much more than a simple celebration of the 7th art. It has become an internationally renowned platform, uniting film talent and cultures from around the world.
At the heart of this initiative is the overriding objective of highlighting cinematographic works of exceptional quality, thereby contributing to the artistic evolution of world cinema. At the same time, the committee is committed to stimulating the film industry in Morocco, offering new opportunities, and encouraging growth.
Finally, the Marrakesh Festival is an ambassador for Morocco, spreading the country's cultural wealth around the world.
Join us in this extraordinary cinematic and cultural adventure, where talent and diversity meet to create unforgettable moments.
